Many pet parents mistakenly believe that if they feed their dogs and cats McKibble and McCan, then all the essential nutrients are there in the feed, and as such they do not have to supplement their diets (add any vitamins or other supplements). After all, commercial dog feed is supposed to be "complete and balanced", right? The fact is, sadly, commercial pet feed is depleted of a lot of essential nutrients, either due to poor quality, or because of the way the food is being processed. It is therefore important that natural supplements are included as part of the pets' daily dietary routine - don't wait until they get sick before supplementing their diet - or switch to real food instead!.
